Introduction of BCF
The Benin Consultative Forum as a Pan-Benin group, is formed as a socio-cultural organization for the Benin people of Nigeria. It takes the Benin Agenda as its official manifesto. It is a group of elites and intellectuals bonded by a common desire to advance the interests of Benins. Our desire is to ultimately transform into an umbrella organization of the Benin people (Ivbiedo) in Nigeria and in diaspora. The Benin Consultative Forum is formed with the intent of reuniting Benin People, and perhaps as an alternative to existing Benin socio-cultural organisations. It is to be a pressure group for galvanizing legitimate force that is both serving the interests of Benins and maintaining the waning influence of the Benin People in the Nigerian Nation. The Benin Consultative Forum is a necessary body to preserve the ethnic identity of the Benin people. Although the group is non-political, one of its main objectives is to foster unity among Benins in order to more effectively promote the political interests of Benins in Nigeria through democratic processes. The group aims to represent the interests of all Benin communities within and outside Nigeria.
